Baptism preparation.
Baptism preparation is conducted by a team of parishioners using the new video based program produced specially for the Archdiocese and involves one meeting (usually on the first Tuesday of each month) prior to the baptism. The Godparents are also encouraged to come to this meeting. Many parents have lapsed and often one partner is non-Catholic; consequently they are welcomed into a relaxed and informal atmosphere where the team help parents to fully understand the importance of the sacrament and stress the significance of the parents’ role as their child’s first teachers. Over the years, there have been many success stories of parents returning to the practice of their faith and continuing the journey of faith with their children.
