School and Parish.
The children, Governors, teachers, teaching assistants and all who work in Sacred Heart School are very important members of our parish family. This is demonstrated by the commitment shown by everyone at School towards the celebration of sacraments and the deepening of all aspects of our relationship with God. Sacred Heart school is described in its Mission Statement as a place “where God’s holy people pray, reflect, learn, and grow to mirror the love of Jesus.” The school invites parishioners to celebrate the Mass with them in school and successfully encourages the parents to participate in the children’s preparations to receive the sacraments. The Prayer Garden in the school grounds is open not only to our parishioners but to the local community, and the parish appreciates the school’s help in fund raising for our many parish needs e.g. refurbishing the hall. But especially the bonds between school and parish enable us to grow together as the family of the Sacred Heart.
